“She said something about Kanye late on [in her set] but I didn’t hear it,” he said. “I don’t agree with it. He’s my brother and the biggest artist on Roc-A-Fella right now. … I guess I should hook them up because he’s a great guy, too. I don’t know what the problem is. I don’t know where that came from.” [source]

and Hov continues to keep the peace amidst the controversy. This time regarding his little brother, Kanye West and Amy Whinehouse’s comments of Yeezy being a “cunt”. Its good to see him so diplomatic about it especially after the historic, undercover ethering of disgruntled bands that cant sell like they did in ‘94.

Nas has broken his tradition of sidestepping brand partnerships and inked a one-year partnership with athletic apparel company Fila

“My best friend Will and I loved Fila,” Nas tells Billboard. “It represented prestige and everything that was cool to us. When Will passed, we buried him in a black Fila sweat suit, so doing a deal with them has a lot of significance for me.” [source]

heres Jigga’s grand opening performance live at Glastonbury. I like what he did here, smart move on Jay’s part. Even if the band (he took the song from) dissed hip hop (Definitely Maybe some ignorance on their part). At the end of the day, this is entertainment…and this culture transcends boundaries (race, gender, nationalities etc). No need for a (Jay-Z) rebuttal and the start of a genre war over generalized, biased opinions. Let them keep hating while he keeps caking. It doesnt matter how many Shock(s) Of Lightning those unearthed comments you, Noel Gallagher, continue to Dig Out Your Soul from, but i dont know if you noticed…hip-hop will Be Here Now until the end of time (see: Lil Wayne going platinum in a week). They cant Stop the Clocks, even with all the Wonderwall(s) against us. The music will “Live Forever,” and as a genre, were Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants.
ps. leave it to eskay and nation ether these dudes on the blog tip.
